Give HVAC mechanics the tools they deserve.
HVAC control shouldn't take proprietary tools, a training class, and a manufacturer-specific specialist. The mechanic already standing at the equipment should be able to power it up and go.
We come from the trades.
What we saw, firsthand, is that the value automation creates rarely reaches the person making the repair.
The alarm comes in and routes to a specialist who isn't the one making the repairs. The trends sit with someone who is never going up on the roof — and trends are the only thing that catches an intermittent.
That isn't anyone's fault. Automation grew up serving the layer above the field, and it does that job well. The field just was never the intended user.
We think it should be. So we build automation meant to be used by the people doing the service — the ones holding the tools, in front of the machine.
